Senior Financial Analyst

Reporting to the Manager of Research Financial Operations, this position is responsible for the financial reporting/management of grants, contracts and sundry funds. Perform all grant related post-award functions including, but not limited to, budget and expense analysis, monthly billings, financial reporting, labor distribution changes, preparation of journal entries, reconciliation analysis, and re-budgeting. Meet regularly with principal investigators, Department: heads, and research administrators to resolve accounting problems/concerns. Review and approve all expense transactions to ensure that they are allowable, allocable and applicable per the terms and conditions of the sponsor.

Level of knowledge generally acquired through completion of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.

Three to five years of progressive experience in post-award Research Accounting.

Knowledge of federal (NIH preferred), non-federal and state contract guidelines including OMB A-110, A133, and PHS grants policy statement a must.

Must have strong analytical skills.

Must have strong oral and written communication skills.

Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines and be able to manage multiple priorities
