Job Details:

Associate's degree is preferred
1-2 years experience is required
Under general supervision, prepares slides for tissue diagnosis utilizing paraffin and frozen section techniques, and performs a variety of routine and special stains, and histochemical procedures for specific diagnosis of cell types and structures, bacteria, fungi, pigments, and minerals. Must have manual dexterity and visual acuity. Must have interpersonal skills necessary to work closely with small group in “team effort”. Bachelor Degree with courses in biology, chemistry, and mathematics. ASCP registration required or ASCP eligible (exam should be passed within one year of start of employment) Three months of on-the-job training required for adequate performance.
