If you are interviewing for a clinical position, be prepared for questions regarding patient care:

  • Describe how you deliver compassionate patient care. 
  • How do you promote an interdisciplinary approach to patient care?
  • In the past how have you handled a disagreement with colleagues regarding the care of a patient?
  • What do you do when you receive an order you don’t agree with? Has there ever been a time you refused? Why?
  • Describe a time when you made a mistake in caring for a patient. How did you resolve the mistake?
  • Describe a time when you had to deliver bad news to a patient’s family. 
  • Describe a time when you had to make an urgent decision regarding a patient’s care and act quickly.
