Job Details:

This position operates as the first point of contact and source of information for patients and guests at Tufts Medical Center. The Patient Information Ambassador will employ exceptional customer service skills to welcome all visitors, provide directions, and request assistance for visitors needing special assistance. An effective Patient Information Ambassador will have outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication talent and a love for interacting with people.  This role will require problem solving and computer skills and the drive to exceed our customer’s expectations.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Actively welcomes all entrants (incoming patients, visitors, vendors etc.) to the Medical Center and provides detailed directions to their destination
  • Informs family members, visitors, and delivery services of patient room locations and hours and provides detailed directions to their destination
  • Informs patients and visitors of  medical center events, conferences, meetings, support groups and promotional activities and provides detailed directions to their destination
  • Informs patients and visitors of local transportation, hotels, and restaurants upon request
  • Assists patients unable to ambulate with a wheelchair or calls Transport for further assistance
  • Liaises with Security in the interest of the Medical Center’s safety
  • Informs Hospitality of any housekeeping or maintenance needs in keeping with the Medical Center’s high standard for appearance
  • Prints Medical Record cards 
  • Maintains Visitor Lost and Found 
  • Answers and directs incoming phone calls
  • Documents and escalates feedback, complaints, problems, delays and patterns to Supervisor for resolution

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) preferred
  • 1-2 years customer service experience
  • Ability to relate to a diverse patient and visitor population in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to be prompt and dependable
  • Computer literacy required. Ability to learn and use Tufts network programs
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
