The Division of Rheumatology at Tufts Medical Center offers comprehensive care for arthritis and autoimmune diseases and is an active center for patient-oriented research. The division is looking for a research assistant to focus on clinical studies in systemic lupus erythematosus, an autoimmune disease that disproportionately affects young women and minorities. The successful applicant will be organized and detail-oriented, with excellent work ethic and interpersonal skills. Prior experience in a hospital setting is preferred, but not mandatory.
This position will begin in June 2019.
Responsible for data collection and ensuring that all data is collected in a timely fashion, which includes identifying missing data and implementing data checks, as well as generation of reports.
May be responsible for scheduling meetings or study visits, as well as calendar maintenance. Logs work performed.
May maintain and update records in accordance with IRB/WIRB and sponsor requirements.
Assists with preparation of abstracts, presentations, and publications as needed.
May train other research assistants, volunteers, or students.
May perform literature searches.
Ability to follow established study protocols and maintain impeccable study file maintenance.
Attention to detail and careful reconciliation for data entry and analysis.
Maintains records of results and methodology. Logs work performed.
Mails and tracks materials sent to collaborators.
Maintains department records, reports and files as required.
Conducts data entry and double-checks all data entry for accuracy.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
Attends meetings as required.
Maintains collaborative, team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working groups achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment
Performs other similar job related duties as required or directed.
Bachelor’s Degree is required.
0-2 years’ experience in research related activities. An equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above, may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
Ability to perform data entry and retrieval.
Knowledge of database management helpful.
Ability to prioritize quickly and appropriately essential.
Knowledge of the biological sciences and scientific principles.
