Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) (www.tuftsctsi.org/), one of over 50 organizations supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA), was established in 2008 to transform the biomedical research process through education, promoting collaboration, and the provision of research infrastructure and support services. Tufts CTSI accelerates the translation of laboratory research into clinical use, medical practice, and health policy. In addition to its work with Tufts University, Tufts Medical Center, and other partner organizations, Tufts CTSI contributes to the national CTSA Consortium.

Tufts CTSI seeks a Computational Biology intern for a new scientific software development initiative in summer of 2019.

Responsibilities:

Utilize best practices and methodologies to assess biological pathway data and algorithms for quality and relevance in the context of model-based initiatives. 

Requirements:

Undergraduate or graduate degree in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology.

Knowledge of computational biology and bioinformatics databases.

Basic knowledge of biochemical pathways and assessment algorithms.

Must have strong communication and time management skills.

Ability to ensure high-quality on-time delivery of system documents and deliverables.
