I am proud to be an employee at Tufts Medical Center and be a part of an institution that has such a distinguished reputation and inclusive work environment. Most importantly, with my interest in a career in medicine, I have the opportunity to work with top physicians and researchers and further develop my skills and experiences. My role in clinical research at Tufts Medical Center for the past two years has provided me opportunities to be in the forefront of advancing medicine and quality patient care. I enjoy the people I work with and they have become like my second family. I cannot imagine wanting to work anywhere else!"

On January 3, 2014 just before dawn, firefighters battled tirelessly in the frigid, stormy weather. In spite of their best efforts, within just a few hours, my husband, my daughter and I had lost our home. My coworkers were moved with great generosity, acts of kindness and words of support. I was speechless by it all. I will forever remember this chaotic time in my family’s life when my coworkers provided much healing and comfort.
I had a hard time writing thank you notes to my coworkers because I was so overcome with emotion. Losing everything you have worked for in your life in just a few hours is a challenge. My coworkers have played a part in getting my family and me through this difficult time and I will never forget that. Their acts of selflessness have forever been imprinted upon my heart. I have worked here for more than 25 years and I now have an even deeper appreciation of my lab family."
Salone is a wonderful addition to the SICU staff. She is always professional, efficient, pleasant, and goes above and beyond to ensure all staff have every available tool to make the shift progress smoothly. Salone manages with ease and proficiency, and takes notice of details that often go unnoticed in a busy work environment.
It’s difficult to choose one or two situations that explain Salone’s excellence. On any given day, there are numerous ‘little acts of kindness’ that make her stand out. On one particular day, we had a 20-year-old patient admitted to SICU in critical condition and it was likely he would not survive. Salone noticed the worry and fear in the family’s eyes. She realized the staff nurses caring for the young man were unable to stand with the family. Salone ordered a small tray of cookies and gave them drinks so the family was able to stay very close to the unit. She also sat nearby with them to provide comfort for almost an entire shift. The family is forever grateful. The patient pulled through and later went to rehab. This is one example of how Salone not only achieves excellence in her day-to-day work, but how she enhances cohesiveness among staff.”
Beth goes out of her way to make people feel appreciated. She consistently thanks the people she works with for helping her and always finds a way to recognize others in a thoughtful way. A funny example is that she was so grateful for someone making web edits quickly to the Trauma Surgery website that she bought them a Harry Potter wand to thank the person for ‘magically making things happen."
"In her role as Injury Prevention Coordinator, Beth has done a fantastic job of not only setting up valuable community programs but also in spreading the word about Tufts MC. From bringing a Tufts Medical Center sign to Good Morning America in New York City, to hunting down Weather Channel anchors during the snowstorm, to actively sharing photos of our community work on social media, Beth goes above and beyond to be a true ambassador of Tufts Medical Center in the community. She really loves this place and deserves to be shown the appreciation that she shows for so many of us."
In the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, we are like family. I have been a nurse here for more than 30 years and I believe we have an environment of respect and collegiality among our entire interdisciplinary team that is unlike any other.
We are a support to each other whether one of us needs a hand to deliver patient care, or through personal times in our lives when we need that extra support. We share daily challenges as well as celebrate our life events together like a family.
The environment for patients is incredible, and I am extremely proud of the care we deliver to the patients and families in the PICU at Floating Hospital for Children."
